Alyssa Karmia
“My hope is for every person will feel more connected to their body and begin to feel at home.”
Alyssa created Abode with the hope to bring a practice to individuals that will give them just as much technique to use in studio as it does in their home. Whether the home be a physical structure or in the body, Alyssa’s hope is that every time a person shows up on the mat they will begin to learn more about how their body moves and fits. With a focus on Dynamic movement from the lens of Katonah yoga and other yoga lineages, Mobility, Pranayama, elements Kundalini and Meditation, class will move you through the entire body intentionally and mindfully.
Alyssa has a strong background in the movement world both from her formal higher education and experience in the movement and wellness industry. She received her 200 Hour Yoga Certificate in 2017 from BlueSpot Yoga located in Columbus, Ohio led by Staci McCool and Cindy Lunsford. She is also finishing up her 200 Hour Katonah Yoga Certificate where she has studied under the Founder Nevine Michan, Josie Schweitzer and many other Katonah teachers nationwide. Alyssa has also been an ACE Personal Trainer since 2018 and combines her background in strength and human anatomy to her practice.
